Multiple Meetings Held for the Deep Blue Dream 2035 Global Research Expedition Voyage

Dates: July 11, 2025; August 19, 2025; September 11, 2025

Progress Summary:

Leg Planning: Professor Fang Jiasong, convener for the Southern Ocean leg, collaborated with experts from 10 institutions to develop a 200-day research plan covering the Pacific, Southern Ocean, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans. The plan focuses on unexplored areas such as deep-sea trenches and subglacial lakes.

Technology Integration: The expedition plans to deploy equipment including full-ocean-depth landers and in-situ sequencing devices to achieve multi-level sampling and real-time data transmission.

International Collaboration: A global call for onboard projects was launched to promote transnational scientific collaboration (with participation from entities like the Polar Research Institute of China and Sun Yat-sen University).

Next Steps: Optimizing station design. The voyage is scheduled to depart from Shenzhen in December 2025.
